Goat Kisses are the BEST!!!
"Finnegan" (White Alpine Goat), "Piper" (Brown Nigerian Pygmy Goat) and "Clover" (Black Sheep) are a very important part of our therapy team. They, along with "Dixie Lu" (Donkey), our 4 ducks ("Lucky", "Dunkin", "Cookie", & "Snickerdoodle") and 15 Chickens make up our "Petting Zoo". They are the perfect comedians to break the ice with a new participant who is feeling anxious and unsure. They are each 8 years old and have been hand-raised here since they were babies. Prior to being an integral part of the therapy team at Victory Hill, they were employed by "Imagine That Ponies and Petting Zoo" where they traveled to many birthday parties and events over the years. Now they stay here on the farm to love on everyone who visits. Our goats are extremely affectionate and thrive on lots of attention. We like to say they are just like dogs with horns! They especially love to get scratches on the head.
Routine is very important to many of our participants and getting goat kisses after a session is something some of them count on and look forward to. They have a unique way of bringing light and laughter into the dark places some of our participants feel stuck in. Seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter of the young and old, really warms our hearts! They are masters at opening the door and that will allow healing to begin.
